The problem with core games is that the standard has changed this generation -- it has lowered, actually. Games like God of War, GTA and Halo were never considered hardcore games until now. The Wii has plenty of true hardcore games on it if you just take the time to look for them. The Wii's biggest problem has always been it's quality not being up to standard, not a lack of core games.

The Wii is, without a doubt, a bad console. But like all bad, low quality consoles before it, it has hardcore games on it.

Just curious...What was considered a hardcore game before then? I used to play pretty random stuff and never really cared about it what it was.

This generation the meaning of hardcore game has been changed into good game. That's all it means now.

Back then, hardcore actually meant hardcore. Games like Fire Emblem, Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry are example of what we considered to be hardcore games. Hardcore games take skill and detication. Play the original Mega Man games lol.

Wii fans are so different than we GameCube fans were. We would have never considered something like MadWorld to be hardcore. That would have just been looked at as an average action game meant to appeal to teens with low attention spans that need to feel cool. Things were so different back then... GTA was basicly the Wii Sports of that era and all of it's clones were the idiotic mini-games lmao.

There was a completely different mindset back then.
