So more or less i was correct. Obviously there are flaws in my logic and i will take them but wii owners do need to step back and analyze the situation because truth is most 3rd party games dont sell great. 1M copies of a game when there are 50M wiis out there are not great sales IMO. Regardless you are entitled to your opinion as i am mine but i still believe that the only (with a few exceptions) 3rd party games that sell well are very casual games. Nothing wrong with casual games but hopefully you can see where im coming from? Great chart though and it was deinatly eye opening to see all those games sales |
Games like Madoworld (and No More Heroes) would do no better on either of the HD consoles than the Wii... they would have had better opening weeks sure, but total sales wouldn't make much difference. (Putting the game on both HD consoles would have garnered a few extra sales, but nothing significant)
This is because it just doesn't have mass appeal.... if somene goes into a store and sees Madworld in Black and White next to a more realistic shooter they will buy the Call of Duty's instead.
It is exactly the same reason games like Okami, and Killer 7 didn't sell amazingly.
Also you really don't understand demographics, the more a console sells doesn't equate to games selling equally more (percentage wise) The PS2 didn't have any games reaching even 15% of owners.... and only 3/4 games passed 10%. The GameCube had 10 games reaching 10%, and 3 games about 30%.
