what do you mean by that, like taking your shirt and swipping the top of the remote?  cause thats all I ever do for cleaning 

That should do, as long as there is nothing on your shirt that will scratch it

You would have to be pretty grimy for something to be affecting the camera though... like you just just wiped your hand over the camera after holding a chocolate bar grimy.
