You seem to have missed the point: the Wii has no need for any sort of "upgrade", it's selling quite well as it is. And any upgrade it will receive, as per Blue Ocean Strategy, will be geared towards getting more non-gamers into the mix, not towards claiming a bigger share of the incumbent market.

 

They may want the incumbent market back, having pissed it off.

The two NOT being mutually exclusive.  WITH proper focus and allocation.

 That's an interesting theory, but it's not backed at all by their actions, nor by Blue Ocean Strategy. It seems to me that what you're expressing is something more of a personal desire, not an observation based on knowledge of the business strategy being employed by Nintendo or their actions over the last 5 years.
