Like the real pokemon games (go to gyms and get badges), but on console of course in a 3D enviroment.
And its all online where people that goes on are all pokemon trainers. Everybody starts off with 1 of like say a selected 20 random pokemons. And of course its up to you to find and catch more and battle others online etc. Maybe once u collected all 8 badges (btw gym battles are all really tough unlike in the gameboy games) you get the choice to move to a different continent to get a new set of 8 badges etc.
and once in a random while or if nintendo posts it somewhere online on a certain day, a legendary pokemon can be found and if your skilled enough you can catch it.
