That is our point... it can't be done.
Read scotties post.
IF it is the same console, but with the ability to output in a higher resolution, all the games would look worse on both SD and HD televisions.
IF it is not the same console inside, but has a faster processor to cope with the extra resolution, then the old games would still look the same, but new games would have to have 2 versions of the same game on the disc, otherwise they would either look exactly the same or would not work on the older non-HD Wiis, thus alienating the existing audience.

Like I said orignally, this prediction is almost as stupid as the non blu-ray PS3, It is not a technical possibility without alienating the old audience.

Could they come up with an attachment that you plug the Wii's video output signal cord into and then it converts it into an hd signal?

I don't think it matters if it's possible or feasible to do it. You still haven't explained why Nintendo would bother doing this. It just doesn't make good business sense to do so, and without a simple reason that pertains to dollar signs, why would Nintendo do such a thing? It's nice to think about, kinda like how people love conjuring up conspiracy theories that don't have sound reasonings and are always more convoluted and ridiculous than real life tends to be, but that doesn't make it a sound prediction.
