Hrmmm the PSP is big with the Final Fantasy fan base in Japan so the 77,777 limited edition FF7 PSPs were a sure fire deal. The PSP is pretty big in Europe regardless because its Sony. But in the U.S., it's hard to say, maybe there wasn't enough money put into advertising.

Word of mouth seems to be around where I live that hardcore gamers aren't impressed with the PSPslim's changes, many U.S. gamers apparently wanted dual analog sticks and a longer battery life so this was a dissapointment for them. Alot of gamers didn't want a smaller screen either as that was one of the reasons they liked the PSP over the DS (I don't know if the screen is actually smaller or not but its a complaint I hear). But that's just what I've gathered, nothing more than an anecdotal second hand account so nothing conclusive or even worth discussing. It's really a mystery at this point.

A possible reality though might be that they weren't released here in time to affect the latest sales figures.
