I don't know your life story but have you every gone into a major electronics retail store and purchased an HD TV? I did just the other day. Guess what crazy things they tell you and try to sell you? Have you ever walked into an electronics retail store (Best Buy let's say) and noticed the ever increasing Blu-Ray lineup?
A lot more people know about Blu-Ray then you're guesstimating. It's just a matter of when do they want to take the plunge. (Which they will).
