Before you all run out and buy 32GB cards. The absolute maximum card you will EVER need for what the Wii can currently do is 8GB.

And in that 8GB I am including things like 1000 photo files to take up 2GB (I used 8Mpixel camera as a reference) and 100 music files to take up 0.6 GB (196Mb/s and about 5 minutes long)

The ENTIRE current collection of virtual console games (about 300 titles?) would take up about 2GB of space.... while the ENTIRE current Wiiware selection (about 50 here in UK, not sure about America) would probably only take up about 1GB

-----

All that together comes to 5.6 GB.... so you still have 2.4GB left for future VC/Wiiware.

Of course this is ignoring the fact you only have 20 pages worth of space on the SD card channel, so you couldn't actually download the entire VC collection even if you wanted to (20X12 = 240 channel slots)

You should NEVER EVER say that X amount of memory will be all you ever need. That is completely ignorant of the past history of computer development and change.

What if all games no Wii from here on out follow PS360 with tons of DLC?

What if Netflix rumor proves to be true and it requires a few GB of storage space?

What if Nintendo opens up demos for games to download?

There are too many what ifs. Someone will always run out of room regardless of how much space.

There is never too much space, granted I'll stick with my 2GB card until I need to upgrade, but when I do I will buy the biggest I can for ~$20.

Which is why I said that.

I am just trying to save people money spending £50 or whatever on a card they will hardly fill. I doubt anyone on this website will fill a 2GB card with what the Wii offers now. The only way any of us will come close is if Nintendo do things like that in future, but buying a 2GB card now, and a 32GB card in say 1 years time IF it is needed is cheaper than buying a 32GB now.
