That actually does make sense in all honesty.
I think I know what Carmina is saying...Basically, if Microsoft are cocky enough to let go of 1 franchise, what makes us so sure that they won't let go of another one? Microsoft seem to be under the impression that if they release a game and get timed exclusivity, it won't sell on the other console and will profit Microsoft in the long run. It makes sense to me. I don't know if Microsoft would be dumb enough to not have exclusivity of Halo 3 but then again, we all thought Ninja Gaiden 2 was going to stay on the 360.

Yeah, good point. I can't believe Microsoft sold the Ninja Gaiden franchise to Tecmo like that. They're surely going to sell Halo next. After all, it's not like it sold over 9 million copies and is their primary system seller, or anything.

While Halo is still MS' property, Bungie is an independent company again. Bungie's talents and MS resources were both essential to Halo success and Bungie expressed its will to explore new game ideas instead of dedicating itself almost entirely to Halo. I really can't imagine, though, whether this could stretch things to the point that MS tries to tempt Bungie keeping only a timed exclusive, or whether MS fears a decline of the franchise without Bungie's full efforts (let's not forget that Bungie made of Myth I and II two masterpieces, while Myth III, not made by Bungie, was between meh and utter shit, depending on players' tastes) and tries to enlarge its audience (it could be the price asked by Bungie to keep on being Halo's minds in the first case, or a remedy to possible lower sales on a single platform without Bungie in the latter). But these are very far stretched hypotheses, if true, and I seriously doubt it, Carmina should change her nickname to Cassandra

First off, who did not expect NG2 to go to PS3? NG 1 already had a version on PS3, why would 2 be any different?
Secondly, M$ started an internal studio dedicated to all things Halo called Halo Studios. One of which we can be guaranteed is Halo 4. They hired some people from Bungie, and consult them on occasion, but they are well on their way without them. Should be interesting to see a Halo game without Bungie's touch.
