I don't think that is the case here though. I think the OP knows the difference I think he intepreted the article incorrectly is all.
The "11.6m shipped in June" figure is the only thing the article asserts as a fact, the idea that those have sold out since then is delivered very meekly and, in my mind at least, is not an assertion of fact but rather the writer's supposition. Because if it is a matter of fact then they failed miserable to convey it as such.
