Like many typical Shounen series, this one also has the tendency to constantly try to top its "cool factor", so to speak - the energy blasts and power levels have just been replaced with increasingly complex and ridiculous backstab plots. While they remain interesting and even plausible at the start, they quickly devolve into russian roulettes played with gatling guns that wouldn't really work in any environment, regardless of suspension of disbelief. The show starts off strong and slowly declines from there, and the second season is just a pain to get through because of certain new characters and their antics. But it's still worth watching. |
