I think they may have been making progress that nobody knew of. Either that or they are trying to lure in some more developers.

It's probably a little of both Euphoria14. A very smart move on Sony's part as the cost of development and the quality of the development tools were two of the biggest complaints developers have with the system. Not only could this improve the quality of multiplatform games on the PS3, it will make securing exclusvity a more difficult take for MS.

What's the price of 360 dev kits then?
Either way, good price drop and hopefully that helps Sony to get more developers to put some games on the PS3. How many dev kits do developers usually need when they make a game anyway?

Hmm... can't say. But 100 people are considered a big team... so... I'd say something like 65 is the avg.. purely by gut feeling though.
