The PS3 is the best console this generation easily, no doubt about it.

-It has the best online service.
-It has the best first-party support.
-it has the most diversity in it's quality games.
-It's hardware is the best.
-It's controller works best for a wider array of games.

The 360 is a solid choice for 2nd place, but it's first-party offerings are fairly weak. So it shares most of it's quality games with the PS3, and the exclusives it does have you can find something better in the same genre most of the time on the PS3.
