Well, can you explain why No More Heroes would be niche while GTA isn't?

Um what? Can you explain why de Blob is niche and Halo isn't? You are comparing two games from completely different genres here. A more absurd comparison I really can't imagine. And you have heard about the No More Heroes sequel right? The one made because the game sold so well? Not every game is destined to be a multi-million seller. Funny thing is developers seem to know this going in. Thats why franchises that sell less than a million an iteration keep on going.

They're not two different genres.  They're both action games.  And they're also very similar thematically.  If they were books instead of games they'd be sitting in the same section.

No, no they wouldn't, you have to be joking, stop saying things like this, my brain is on fire.

What bookstores do you frequent?  In almost any I go to, they would be on the same shelf.  They're both noire /  crime fiction type books.  In the first instance you have the story of an immigrant to America who is forced to earn hs way to the top of the food chain by pursuing a life of crime and in the second instance you have the story of a guy who has some kind of relationship with a modern noire-esque heroine (much as in Cowboy Bebop) who is on a course of revenge against a group of assassins.

Heavens to Murgatoids.
