| Rei said: I dont think marketing White Knight Chronicles (or any other jRPG for that matter) is a good idea. It simply wont work and will be a waste of (limited) resources. Despite being the most discussed type of games here at vgchartz, console jRPGs have lost its appeal in the West. There wont be another Final Fantasy no matter what marketing campaign Sony is willing to launch. |
I think that jRPGs can sell in the West, LO sold well due to word of mouth, and with good advertising and good reviews it could certainly do well, and is a worthy long term investment in my view as they intend it to become a trilogy
Killzone is certainly a contender and there is certainly a chance, but I can just feel it getting old a lot quicker than an Uncharted franchise, and I have more confidence in Naughty Dog producing great games every time. Guerilla aren't experienced enough yet.
As for God of War, I think III is the end, Jaffe said that it will explain why there are no more Greek myths, or something cliched like that, but I think Kratos' tale will be done
