As long as Sony can be considered a viable third party platform, they may not feel as much pressure to cut the price of the PS3. In previous generations, market share was the primary factor in determining third party support. This generation it looks like all third party titles will be released on 360/PS3. There is less incentive for Sony to sell the console at a loss.
