It's far easier to think you're right than to know you're wrong. We're biologically predisposed to engage in such behavior, futile though it may be. And the less research one has done to confirm what one believes, the more adamantly one tends to defend it, paradoxically enough. It does bring to question the claim that we are, by default and by majority, a logically thinking species...
