I don't think anyone here really thinks a PS3 exclusive version of the 360's SO4: Last Hope, would have performed worse for Japan than the 360 version did. From a consumer perspective SE's decision was IMO poor to say the least.

IMO Killzone 2's first 2 days NA sales were actually solid and I think this game will have legs like Uncharted did.

That's your opinion, but I have a feeling the opposite will happen.  Killzone 2 was a great game, no doubt, but only selling 3 million worldwide after a few years on the market is pretty much a disappointment in my eyes (for such a hyped exclusive), and I have a feeling the sales will only diminish even more rapidly given the slow time of the year, and by the time the spending picks up, newer titles will be out.
