Actually, I would say it's third parties who are to blame for the lack of good games at this point. If you look at what happened in 2007 and 2008, Nintendo did all the heavy lifting early on, with their dense release schedule in 2007, and then seemed to back down once the Wii's momentum was in place in order to let third parties have an environment with less competition from the Big N. If all had gone according to plan, third parties should have released their offerings for the Wii at a time (ie 2008) when Nintendo themselves were busy working on their future projects, and would not have significantly cannibalized third party sales. Unfortunately, I don't think they counted on third parties dumping shovelware on it while keeping the lion's share of their resources committed on the PS360.
