OT: This games sounds really violent. I don't know if it's at a level where it stops being amusing and starts being disturbing, though.

Maybe slightly disturbing is their aim.

I am pretty sure that is their aim. The GoW team has always said the franchise was made to be aimed at only the adult gaming crowd.
