Even if you say that Heavenly Sword is 12 hours of total gameplay it is still a short game ...
Most single player only games have single player campaigns which take in the 20 hour range to complete before you start on collecting everything; and most gamers are probably not going to be all that concerned with collecting everything. Most games that have single player campaigns in the 8 to 12 hour range have several modes of multiplayer gameplay which add an element of infinite replayability.
