For example, not one game in the Petz series (which is often held up as a sign that Ubisoft has decided to go the shovelware route) sold 20k in the first week. Many of those games ended up with lifetime sales of 300k-400k.

If Madworld has anything close to that kind of multiplier, it will exceed 800k in NA alone.

      A game like Madworld should outsell a game like Carnival Games just as a game like Mario Galaxy should outsell a game like Wii Fit or Wii Play, but games in traditional genres aren't selling as they should on the Wii which could make more developers interested in embracing the Wii's expanded audience with their development rather than core gamers.  Look at Nintendo's E3 last year.  Was their a new Kid Icarus announced?  No, Animal Crossing (which walks the line between the two groups) and Wii Music (totally for the expanded audience) were the games Nintendo announced.

     There's a reason the Japanese haven't been buying Wiis lately while PS3s and games like Yakuza 3 and RE 5 have, and I think it is because they don't like these expanded market games that much.

8.5 million SSBBs say hi (third best-selling "traditional game" this generation)

8 million SMGs say hi (fourth best-selling "traditional game" this generation)

5 million TPs say hi

3 million Animal Crossings say hi

2.75 million Super Paper Marios say hi

2 million Sonic and the Secret Rings say hi

1.66 million RE4s say hi

1.5 million Metroid Prime 3s say hi

1.3 million Pokemon Battle Revolutions say hi

1.25 million RE: UCs say hi

1.2 million Star Wars: TFUs ay hi

Not to mention, there are many games that were successes without passing the million mark - No More Heroes, de Blob, Wario Land: Shake It, and so on.  The first two I know are successful in the eyes of the developper, and I'm sure Nintendo can't be too unhappy with the sales of Wario Land.

 

Of course, traditional games don't sell on Wii, just like hardcore games don't sell on Wii, and third party games don't sell on Wii, and only casual games and shovelware sell on Wii. ~_~

Why are wii owner happy about these sales?  These games are getting away with murder.

These games and the developers that work on them make all the ppl that defending them a fool.  Its like the wii fanboys will say anything to fight a PS3/360 fanboy.   Look the only thing thats good about the wii is just the wiimote,thats it.  The games thats on the system are all half ass work.  The console is half ass too.  Lets be real.  We will see how many nintendo fans will stay with them when the wiimote type of controller is on other systems.   It will be the PS1 and PS2 days all over again.  I can't wait.  Developers plus nintendo should be ashame of themselves.  The shit this console has put out will go down in infamy.
