Two days only of data for RE5 sales in NA and Europe  and you already claiming its a win for PS3. By the way its ironic PS3 is getting hammered in total  console sales and you like to hang onto any slight morlae boosting win.

X360 gap over PS3 is 8.15 million and is growing and growing by every week

The numbers by end of first month will show RE5 will be in front on X360 than PS3. Attach rates regarding consoles sold with game for the week the two games released is what I meant. Not the BS about installbase and game sales.

What makes you think I give a damn about PS3/360 sales? Is this what this thread is about? Try to stay on topic. Don't change the subject because I proved you wrong.

I was not just sitting here claiming a win, I was refuting your bogus post full of bogus claims and skewed comparisons. I was making a case for why the game should be multiplatform.

Why not refute my counters against your attach ratio remarks? Why not refute my counters against you purposely excluding Japan sales? Why not refute my counters against your "sales are tied" remarks?

Is it because you know you were wrong and then had to change the subject and go off-topic?

Saints Row 2 and Dead Rising 2 are multi-platform titles it is highly likely Lost Planet 2 will be multi-platform. Lost Planet was timed exclusive by over 14 months on X360. This adversely impacted on Lost Planet sales and the reviews took a hammering despite PS3 version being better than X360 version.

Lost planet 2 will sell more ltd sales on X360. Legs in Na and Europe due to X360 having much larger install base in non-Japan. Non-Japan X360 has 10 million lead over PS3 that should helop ltd sales of any given game on X360.

Shooters do not sell very well at all in Japan. The Emo JRPG, obscure Japanese niche  games only tend to sell well in Japan. Lost Planet 2 is a shooter and Japan will not help its sales at all for PS3. So Ps3 will not be saved from being outsold by X360 in regards to Lost Planet 2 sales.

In regards to me omitting Japan there is a reason. well the HD game sales (PS3 and X360) are very top heavy and sell 90% of their ltd sales in first two weeks.  80% of Japanese HD game sales in one week. 10% of Japanese HD game sales are in second week and then 10% in the remaining weeks of its life on the market (Japan region only). The games sell relative to their install bases in Japan. In Japan PS3 games outsells any given X360 game by around about 4  to 1 in favour of PS3.

The sales of the other regions do not follow the Japanese model and there are longer legs in Europe and NA regarding game sales of HD consoles.

*HD consoles refers to X360 and PS3 console only.

According to game sales on Lost Planet X360 sold 1.85 million but was released 14 months before it was launched on PS3. PS3 Lost Planet sold only 410k.

If games were released at same time it would still be a X360 win over PS3 but the gap would be much closer and I say 3 copies of Lost Planet would be sold to every 2 copies of Lost Planet on PS3. 3 to 2 ratio is applicable to shooter genre due to NA region skewing the sales in X360s favour. europe is a 1.2 to 1 in favour of PS3 for shooter titles.
