You just don't get it do you. PS2 last gen was not the cheapest. It's software. What your not getting is that the mass consumer doesn't want Killzone, Halo, Uncharted. They want entertainment. The mass want quick fun entertainment. It's the gaming SUBCULTURE that wants these AAA games or more action your taste games.
The PS3 targeted, focused, aimed moved towards just a PART of the SUBCULTURE. PS3 didn't even target the majority of the subculture. It targeted the subculture who had easy to spend cash or at least the part that can divert the money.
If it was about cheapest then PS2 would have flopped. If it was about graphics PS2 would have flopped.
Time to open up eyes an look at people rather that saying you are people. You are you and people are people. You are not people.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
