This is a software solution only.  It doesn't matter if you own any model PS3...or X360 or Wii for that matter....because all 3 consoles and all models can utilize Physx.

thats not acurate... all models can use phisics calculation on CPU with the games engine using havok or some other sdk... but Physx  is owned by nvidia and cant be used in ati cards ... in wii and xbox360 phisics calculation is done by CPU and this SDK by nvidia gives dev. the chance to use phisics calculation in their GPU with their own brand PHYSX...

PHYSX<>PHISICS

You might want to actually read the thread and the links provided.  What I said is accurate.  This is just the PS3 getting the Physx SDK which the X360 and Wii already have.

The point being a PS3 developer gets a "free" license to use it; whereas, a Wii/360 developer needs to license the tech directly from Nvidia?

While that's true, it's not what he was talking about now is it?  He assumed I was confusing basic CPU physics calculations with nVidia's Physx technology.

Yes, this allows PS3 developers to download and use the Physx SDK for free but it's not as though it's exclusive to PS3 as some here are suggesting or that it's hardware based due to the nVidia GPU in the PS3 as others are suggesting.

I'm simply pointing out that many PS3, X360 and Wii titles have already utilized the Physx application either directly licensed from nVidia or as a part of a 3rd party middleware application like the Gamebryo Lightspeed engine.
