Other than DSi ware, is there really a need to buy a DSi?

I am tempted to get a DSi, if it makes the touch screen more accurate. So, if I play Puzzle Quest on the DSi, I am less likely to incur penalties for not selecting the right move, due to the touch screen misreading things.
