A lot of games just look better in motion. Even Dead Rising CTYD. It may not look that impressive, but still much better than the "San Andreas with more colors than orange" look the screens give it.
This game, on the other hand, looks fine. It doesn't blow away with graphics, but it's not as though this was a major developer with plenty of people and development time.
I'm just glad to have another game that might play like Grandia. That's my favorite RPG system yet (Chrono Trigger's comes close).
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
