Don't underestimate a small retailer. They can survive in markets the big boys cannot. Sometimes it seems every small town with less then a thousand citizens at the very least has a Radioshack. They are the hardware store for electronics, and thus they often fill that niche in small communities. I know people that live in the suburbs or in the urban sprawl will not appreciate this. However even if your not a fan of Radioshack if your way out in the sticks your going to find yourself going through that door two or three times a year. To pick up that cable you need, that can of air, that new keyboard.

This actually has a greater effect then some of you might think. Radioshack is present in many markets that cannot even support a Wal-mart, and that would definitely not support a Best Buy or a EB games. They are not staying in business by magic. Some stores are obviously doing quite well for themselves. Just perhaps not where you live which is probably the real problem.
