| trestres said: @mike: My second post has the games at least Wii is getting. And it's not very encouraging at all. PS2 saw a lot more games at this point of its lifetime, Wii should be there. Yeah devs were caught off-guard, but still, it's been 2 years now snce it's been accepted that Wii was going to win this gen, yet they are still doubtful. I accept the appologies, but that kind of posting incites people like Rol to come and focus on attacking me. It's been a strange gen so far, Wii has been treated as a third place console. A lot of things lead to this, mailny the devs betting on the HD consoles, devs thinking Wii was going to fail because of the GC, and devs not giving up on PS2 development. Also the increased popularity of the handhelds and devs that did bet on the HD consoles moving away directly to the handhelds, instead of the Wii. Plus a long SW drought from Nintendo. All adds up to the current bad situation of the Wii. If it was to be reversed, it would be after Q2, because for the upcoming months the situation is the same as it has been for the past 6 months. |
I did not see the breakdown initially. I tried to go to the site in the OP but I could not understand it.
I agree that the mix is not great and that the treatment is somewhat poor. But I think it speaks more to this console generation than the Wii specifically. Development is being done for the handhelds. After all, the PS3 and Xbox 360 are not getting that many games. Additionally, I think that Nintendo and some third-parties are waiting for WM+ because they want their new games to incorporate the improved technology.
By the way, would it be possible to get a breakdown by game type for the other consoles? That may strengthen your arguement, especially if the Xbox 360 and PS3 are getting high-end titles whie the Wii gets more mini-games.
