Why is the Wii getting so few games weekly in Japan?

It's not the first year of this gen, we are now on the third and if PS2 gets more games that's actually worrying.

 

Its because the HD current gen is what people bet on and it is a collosal failure. The budgets are high and the returns are low. And since no one bet on the wii, the amount of big name games is very small. It takes time to develop them. I think what we are seeing now are that there is some restructuring, a process that will take a bit of time. I don't know when it began, but it will have mroe wii games and less HD games. One part of this is already occuring.

 

As for ps2, the small niche publishers have a big userbase there and are not yet willing to take risks. The announcement of DQ X will help in this department, but again, it will take a bit of time.
