Well, given the exchange rates and the focus on profitability, Sony may be willing to let the PS3 price ride for a while at where it is.
It could (and probably will) announce a price cut in the Fall. By waiting, it would give them time to continue to lower the manufacturing costs as well as to hope that the Yen loses some of its value.
