we have to be honest here. R&C on the ps3 was released at a time when ps3 owners hardly had a decent library of games. due to this many games done well as ps3 owners were starved. look at r1 and r2 sales as an example.
sly may be well received by hardcore gamers, but how the mainstream audience will react is very different. sony this gen isnt no1 in gaming family entertainment (possibly what made j&d, sly and r&c hits last gen), the wii and the runner up 360 are. majority of sly owners are the younger gamers who cant afford a ps3 and have been given a wii or 360 instead.
taking this into consideration along with knowing that sly is the least popular among jak, r&c and lbp, it was a wise decision from suckerpunch to drop or hold back sly and cater fo the wider current ps3 audience.
