well,
1.2 doesn't support uncompressed audio and 7.1 sound as far as I know .. and it shouldn't be able to maintain the 48bit colors the HDMI 1.3 of the PS3 outputs , but well apart from some super special professional monitors there is no TV outthere ,that would support more than 24bit anyway , so in conclusion - you won't see/hear a difference to a HDMI 1.3 system
