I wonder how/if they'll address this concern.

Imagine little Timmy playing his favorite Wii game Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He plays the Single Player and has a bunch of fun then decides to play online.

Then little Timmy runs into a hoard of people who have mastered the Wave-Shine equivalent in Brawl.

Unless Friend Codes (or something else planned) will allieviate this problem, I pity little Timmy.

I'm sure you will have a score attached to your Mii, I just bet you won't be able to see it.
