They are still one of the most profitable tech companies in the World and they also have over 23 billion in cash and short term investments where they could take the money from. It was a mistake on Microsoft's part but maybe it'll make them wake up and ensure it won't happen again (just like I'd bet they'll make sure the successor to the 360 won't have heating issues, and they have already made changes to their Windows lineup in Europe).
