Don't worry, I know the whole thing is just a misunderstanding, so I was trying to help clear it up. Although I have to disagree with you about the impact of increasing the price to retailers. They MIGHT not choose to eat the loss this time, for starters. And if they do, their profit margins will shrink, meaning that they'll be tempted to replace their Wiis with other, more lucrative objects. Moreover, it is possible that Nintendo (at least) will also increase the price on software, and I sincerely doubt that retailers would choose to eat that loss, as their margins are thin enough as it is. Long story short, this move isn't good for consumers either. But to be honest, I think the price of gaming is going to be the least of the UK's financial problems. The currency plummet that prompted Nintendo to do this is putting similar pressure on all exporters, and I'm positive that Nintendo isn't the last company that's going to do something like this. To all of you in the UK, I can only hope this storm passes quickly.

Generally with the possible exception of the Wii , Retailers are usualy prepared to take smaller profits on the hardware in exchange for profits off software sales so I still can't see this affecting the average customer especialy when it comes to the bigger retailers like Amazon and Game .
If the situation gets much worse then I might have to revise my opinion but I think we're far from breaking point.
