How the hell was it a diss ?

It was just his opinion and one that many people share, reality is wii hardware is weak.

"But how much value can developers and creative folks get out of this wrist motion two years from now, or 5 years from now, or 10 years from now? How can they design products that aren't too derivative of what's already out there?"

If you can't find the insult here, you fail as a gamer. Do you not see the irony? He believes developers will run out of motion based ideas on the Wii in 1-2 years yet has no problem with developers still churning out the exact same button based ideas for the past 30 years. He's also insulting the creative intelligence of every studio out there. I'm not a developer but I can think of an infinite range of motion and button combinations that simply cannot be done with a standard control pad yet this guy can't see beyond his own brown nose and takes his platform as a PR guy from a 3rd party firm working on multiple projects for said console to interject his own lack of creative intelligence and insults.

His statement isn't alluding to the horsepower of the console. Where you not paying attention to the issue or like him looking for a moment to add your own subjective opinion in an attempt to side with anything negative towards Nintendo? He's refering to the motion based controls.
