I can't believe people are pulling the halo brand reasoning.

Okay that might account for 1 in 100,000 people that don't look at the back of the box or have no knowledge of what the internet is, that thinks they are getting the next Halo 3. CLEARLY it's not an FPS. If there were massive pre-orders then yes you could say that people got duped, but there weren't MASSIVE preorders for this game (good sized pre-orders though).

I think this is an achievement, given how good Killzone 2 is looking from the advertisements it's getting down here (I would assume KZ2 is getting the same or better ads in the US).

I think want accounts for more of Halo Wars sales is that it's actually a great RTS on a console and it's ensemble studios swansong, that ought to bring out most of the PC gaming crowd to that game.

If I'm going to be as irrational, I could say that KZ2 only got it's sales by looking like a Gears (theme) and Halo (gameplay style) hybrid for the PS3, and that's why it got the sales it did. But I won't, because that doesn't give praise to the games merits (which is what all you haters are doing to Halo Wars).

More importantly I agree with:

In America at least, it did GREAT for an RTS, who cares about it's name, it's broken a cycle of the lackluster RTS-on-consoles vibe, for that, I congratulate it. Halo Wars did well, while KZ2 just crossed 1 mill WW, I congratulate that too.

People shouldn't be upset about either of these, look at it this way: an RTS on a console sells these #s first week - a first = AWESOME. PS3 exclusive FPS from a company with a not-so-great rep sells 1 million in 2 weeks. Both of these games did wonders and both are considered great!! Guess what: that's ALL that matters! Go Halo Wars/360!!1 Go Killzone 2/PS3!!! From these two benchmarks, the industry IS moving forward, that's great for gamers!!!

Excellent post CGI-Quality, about time somebody thought clearly in this thread.
