If they raise the prices of their software and consoles, they could create a situation where the Wii is selling no better than the Gamecube. Part of the reason why the Wii and its games have been so popular is their price in comparison to what is out there. However, if worldwide, they raise the price of the to $275.00 and the price of its games to $60.00, then they will really shoot themselves in the foot. I can see the Wii weathering the storm of raising the console price to $275.00 because demand for the system has always been higher. However, if they raise the price of their games to $60.00 that could cause them real difficulties because there have only been very few Wii games worth paying that amount of money for (SMG, SSBB, TP but certainly not Carnival Games and most of the party games) especially in comparison to what is on the HD machines. Talk about looking for ways to kill your marketshare.
