This is a portable game, so you should count the portable games as well. They did sell well, just not 10 million, even if you combine PSP and PS2 version sales.
So it doesn't have to sell 10 million, just a few million. And even that doesn't have to be all at once, since the stories games didn't have whopper openings.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
