Granted Sony's not exactly in the best shape lately, but my point was more along the lines that at least they have other sources of revenue to help offset game division losses. Microsoft has lost money for years from their gaming division, and it barely registers against their massive revenues. Nintendo on the other hand, could they really afford to sit there and take losses for years at a time without folding? I know that's an over simplification, but I think there's a fundamental difference in how Sony and Microsoft approach profitibility in their game divisions compared to Nintendo. |
What you ignore is that gaming has been sony's most profitable division for years so they're much like nintendo now. Their other division have been trailing but it was never a problem because PS carried everything. Nintendo can take losses as well, I'm pretty sure they have back up money. They also have a billionaire behind them. They just don't want to and aren't. They just want record profits to keep coming!
As for M$, I agree....windows...'nuff said.
