It is not criminally illegal to do this. There is a clause to this. End User License Agreement. Nintendo can request that you accept(yes) to an agreement that they presented to you through a download. Then you can be held in breach of contract where legal actions can be taken against you.
I don't believe Nintendo has requested a EULA though. It has offered warnings. So you can do anything to your machine it is neither illegal nor breach of contract. Theres also ownership rights to physical objects. So you do fully physically own your Wii.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
