While I'm sure they'd have liked WM+ for Lightsaber Duels I'm equally sure we wouldn't even have Lightsaber Duels if WM+ had existed prior. SWCW:LD is sort of a tossaway game that they knew would make money. It's aimed at kids though. And they did that because they realized they couldn't do it the way we wanted it to be done.
Now that a SW game with proper lightsaber action is possible you can bet LucasArts is working on a serious SW game using it. Something like Force Unleashed 2 or a Jedi Dark Knight game. Hopefully something with an insane online multiplayer action like the PC version of Dark Forces had.
