Reining this thread back into it's topic. The debate still lies how come Star Ocean 4 has such a forgettable, and even at times. Non-existent soundtrack?

One may argue, that with gameplay you can ignore the soundtrack. Not in a JRPG though I'm afraid, let's face it. While your staring at your TV two senses are being used. Sight and Sound. Therefor, Graphics and Soundtracks make a important part of the foundation that is gaming.

Therefor, in my opinion the lack of a proper musical score is a huge hindrance in star ocean 4's overall experience and feels like a step-backwards to the JRPG genre as a whole, a genre that's already struggling to keep up with it's western competition.



Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?
