Lets see...
Sony used magicgate technology and basically killed the unlicensed third party memory card market at the time (funny how I don't remember the EU trying to force Sony to hand over the code to it to those memory card makers) and I don't remember anyone bashing Sony because of it.
Nintendo actively targeted a piece of third party software that allowed people to circumvent regional coding dispite the fact that it's legal to produce such software under international copyright laws (Australian law even has precedent showing it's legal) and I don't remember anyone here bashing Nintendo because of it.
Don't get me wrong I'm not calling Microsoft innocent but I find it funny that some people are so quick to bash them just because they're Microsoft. It's also funny that I don't remember the EU complaining or taking AOL to court when AOL had the dominant messenger client and actively targeted and locked out Microsoft messenger among others in order to keep it's dominance.
Anyways I'm sure some people will be happy when they're able to get Microsoft to strip things away and make it harder for novice computer users or ones without an internet connection to enjoy media files on their PC. Good work EU!
