Yeah, that's kind of what the 2nd video touches. He's right in saying the first movie was an abomination but the second two weren't that bad for the most part. It really would be interesting to hear what someone who had never seen the movies and had no expectations and hear what they say if they watched them I-VI. |
Here's one :P
About six years ago, a local TV station broadcasted episodes I and IV-VI. I saw Episode one completely but only parts of the other films. I was too little to really remember the import things (only some vague scenes)
About 4 years ago, I saw the end of Episode II (I started watching when Windu approached COunt Dooku). I didn't think much about the films.
Now, a few months ago, that same TV station broadcasted all movies, with the premiere of Episode III. They started with Episode I.
Episode I was okay, nothing special although I was curious for more. I liked episode II, Anakin showed some dark thoughts and blabla, Dooku was a good villain (Christopher Lee always is). I did notice Yoda was complete CGI now, in episode I he was still a puppet. Btw, when I saw the clones fighting for the republic I thought: aren't they supposed to be the bad guys? (Yeah, I thought the seperatists would become the empire, not vice versa).
Episode III was awesome. Palpatine/the emperor is an awesome villain, even better than Dooku. When I first saw him in episode one I thought he was a bad guy, but that thought dissapeared in episode II. In the first scenes of episode III I realised he had to be bad, but I wouldn't have guessed he was a sith. The only weird thing I could think of is how Anakin became evil. I can understand he wanted Palpatine to live, but suddenly become his apprentice? Nah.
Then they started broadcasting the original trilogy. I was prepared, but the visual shock was still big. In short, I prefer episodes I-III (hate me, flame me, ban me :P). Why? Well I guess there are 2 reasons:
- the visual quality shock (I saw versions that didn't show the young Anakin in the end, but episode IV was called Star Wars: Episode IV) was there, especially after seeing CGI-fast that's called Revenge of the Sith.
- I knew about the 2 biggest plottwists (who doesn't, even if you haven't seen the movies): Vader being Luke's father, Leia being his sister.
I hope I've helped!
