"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose.... The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time.
But it was a beginning."

One of my favorite past times used to be reading, specifically 'fantasy' books by the likes of Piers Anthony, Terry Brooks, and David Eddings. But out of all of the authors out there, Robert Jordan was my favorite. His books were quite long and deep. And after I discovered him, I devoured the seven books in his The Wheel of Time Series that had been written up until that time. And as often happens with series, I then had to wait for the next book. By the time that finally came out, I had pretty much stopped reading. And Ages had become myth to me.

I've often considered picking the series back up, especially now that there's a total of eleven books. But it's been over ten years since I've last read one. So that means that I'll probably have to start reading from the beginning. And so the length and depth I so cherished when I was younger I now find daunting.

And now sadly Mr. Jordan has passed away before finishing what he had promised would be the last book in the series.  Jordan knew that he may not be able to and was working on notes so another author could complete A Memory of Light the way he intended. I'm not sure anyone else could do it justice, but if it does it may be a beginning to my reading again...
