Not a fair comparison in my opinion. CoD 3 didn't have multiplayer. Red Steel did. This is a huge selling point. CoD: WaW has online multiplayer. I just don't think that the Conduit is going to sell the super high amounts that some people think that it's going to. FPS don't sell well on the Wii. They just don't. |
Well to be honest CoD:WaW also seems to be at a multiplayer disadvantage. The addition of many more players and what seems to be many more modes in the conduit seems to put it in an edge. Also remember, WW2 shooters are much more present on the Wii compared to space shooters, giving the Conduit another advantage. So how about I list advantages for the conduit and advantages for CoD WaW.
The Conduit:
- Exclusive
- What looks to be a better campaign.
-Not WWII
-What potentially could be better multiplayer(there is a chance this might not work out, but with voice chat alone I will probably prefer the conduit).
- Massive hype behind it unlike the Wii version of CoD:WaW.
- Probably won't have supply issues like CoD:WaW(wii) did.
CoD:WaW
- Released before christmas
- Part of a much larger existing franchise.
- First decent FPS on the Wii in both campaign, and multiplayer.
Now let me just say that most people who bought CoD: WaW will buy the conduit because it they obviously seem to be interested in FPS' on the Wii. Not only will those people buy it, but those who bought CoD:WaW on other platforms instead because it was superior on those platforms(in their opinion) might buy it. Now not only will those some of those people buy it, but people who prefer Sci-Fi shooters to WWII(or warfare) ones might look into the Conduit as well. So the major thing imo that will allow the Conduit to surpass CoD:WaW is advertisement. Sega/HVS need to get all of the people who don't go to websites to find game info, but still play FPS' and bought CoD:WaW to know about this game. Now if the game turns out good, or even better than CoD:WaW(which is very likely) then the chances of the game selling more than CoD:WaW, with good advertisement seem to be increased. If Sega/HVS don't advertise the game at the level they need, then I don't think it will sell well. As to the part where you state FPS' don't sell well on the Wii, I want to ask what FPS on the Wii has deserved to sell more than it has or is selling.
