It's 100% the power issue. If the Wii were comparable to other consoles in this regard, then it'd have everything. Nintendo games and (good) third party support.
It could have been the best console ever O_o
But I'm sure Nintendo likes it better this way. More profitable hardware and about a 90% share of software sales due to lack of competition.
